ABB offer blanket ATEX certification for Dust, Gas and Variable Speed Drive use on their full range of hazardous area motors.

Reliability & Safety

The flameproof enclosure design has the following features and benefits:

• Keeps an explosion which takes place inside the enclosure from propagating through gaps to the ambient
• Withstands the explosion pressure created inside the enclosures
• All surface temperatures are selected to comply with the temperature class
• Benefits when dealing with special operating modes such as heavy starts, switching operations or converter-powered operation
• Suitability for use in temperature classed T5 and T6
• Can be used both in zone 1 and zone 2

Maintainability

• Only specified workshops are allowed to make changes and services to motors for hazardous areas.
•  Quantum Controls offers you service and maintenance for flameproof motors through our local Authorised Repair Agent (ARA) Network in the North of England

Availability

• EEx d Hazardous Area motors 2 & 4 pole, foot & flange mounted up to 37kW are held ex-stock at Quantum Controls ensuring same day delivery
• Motors up to 110kW, 2, 4 & 6 pole are on 3 day delivery
